Preventive Dentistry

Preventing oral health problems before they get out of control is one of the keys to maintaining healthy teeth and gums for life. We encourage patients to be proactive with their oral health by coming in for checkups and cleanings regularly, and by being diligent with their brushing and flossing regimen at home.

Oral Pathology Exam

An annual oral cancer screening allows us to examine the soft tissues for any precancerous or cancerous lesions, bumps, and lumps. We will carefully evaluate the soft tissues and oral cavity to identify abnormal areas of the mouth.

Dentures

We can replace multiple missing teeth with a set of natural-looking dentures. Dr. Vecchio may recommend full or partial dentures to replace missing teeth in the upper or lower jaw. These are designed to be very comfortable and are customized for the patient to ensure an optimal fit.

Extractions

Simple or surgical tooth extractions may be necessary when you have severely decayed or infected teeth, severe gum disease, or are preparing for orthodontic treatment. Extractions are performed under local anesthesia.

Tooth Reimplantation/Transplant

We may be able to save your tooth after it has been knocked out or otherwise lost by performing a tooth reimplantation or transplant procedure. Dr. Vecchio uses a special technique to reposition the tooth in its socket and promote the healing process.

Root Canals

You may need to undergo a root canal if the pulp of a tooth has become infected. This is a simple procedure performed under local anesthesia, and involves removing infected tissue by cleaning out the canals of the tooth roots. We can then fill these areas and cap the tooth with a crown.

Botox®

If you have a habit of clenching your teeth, or want to look years younger by eliminating fine lines and wrinkles, Dr. Vecchio may use BOTOX® to relax muscles in certain facial areas. BOTOX® can reduce TMJ pain and also offers aesthetic benefits.

Sleep Apnea/Snoring

If snoring has become a problem for you, or you have been diagnosed with sleep apnea, talk to Dr. Vecchio about sleep apnea treatment options. We may recommend an appliance to open up the airways while you sleep or lifestyle changes that will help you breathe better at night.
